Dr Camilla Morelli
(PI) Anthropologist
​
Camilla is a Lecturer in Anthropology at the University of Bristol.
She is specialised in the anthropology of childhood & youth, and the use of participatory visual methods in youth-centred research.
She has conducted fieldwork with children and youth in the Amazon rainforest for the past ten years, trying to understand how they engage with the environment and shape the future of their society.
Camilla is passionate about conducting collaborative research that can bring out young people’s voices, and teach them new skills that can open up new prospects for them.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time on the coast, surfing and playing ukulele.

Prof Daniela Schmidt
(Co-I) Climate Scientist

Dani is a Professor of Palaeobiology at the University of Bristol. Her research examines the impact of climate change on marine ecosystems--at the coast and in the open ocean--in the present, past and future.
She is a lead author of the IPCC report on climate change, and an Expert Group Member of EU SAPEA (Science Advice for Policy by European Academies) on the topic “"Food from the Oceans”.

Sophie Marsh
Artistic Director and Animator
Sophie is a maker of things based in the city of Bristol. Working in both film and animation, her ambition is to tell memorable stories that make a difference.
She has made films for Channel 4, Aardman Animations and academic projects, animating the lived experiences of Indigenous children in the Amazon rainforest and women in Mexican prisons.
Sophie is passionate about climate change research and telling stories that can lead to the positive futures we need to imagine.
When she’s not animating, Sophie can be found walking through the woods, wandering around music festivals, or learning random facts about animal life.

Neil Pymer
Scriptwriter

Neil is a director working in film, animation & interactive - primarily in the wonderfully diverse and innovative interactive department at Aardman.
He specialises in projects that are difficult to achieve, probably haven't been attempted before, that educate, bring about change and have strong narratives at their heart... ideally all of the above!
Neil’s work has recently won a series of awards, including the White, Wooden & Graphite D&AD awards, four Gold Cannes Lions and a BAFTA nomination. He also talks at festivals and runs workshops for students and professionals by inspiring them to fail fast, think like children and to get their hands dirty.
